Tree Removal

Tree Removal

What size trees do we remove?

We can remove any size tree. With the lowest minimum price of any local tree service, there is no tree too small. We also have the ability to remove large trees as well. There are no trees too big or too small for our crew to take care of for you.

What happens to the tree once it is cut down?

Once the tree is cut down, smaller branches with a diameter of less than 12 inches are run through a wood chipper, creating a wood mulch that is generally shot straight into the truck bed. Larger branches as well as the trunk are cut down into manageable pieces and loaded into the truck as well. The remaining leaves and debri are raked up and removed as well, leaving you with a beautiful cleared space!

Can we leave the wood for firewood?

Yes, we can leave firewood. Typically the wood will be left in logs that will then still need to be split for use. There may be an additional charge to move it and stack it if it is going to slow down our process.

Can we leave wood chips?

Absolutely, we can leave the chips! Wood chip mulch is an excellent way to keep the soil from drying out, maintain soil temperature, and are aesthetically pleasing. We often leave the chips behind for people to use to mulch flower beds, vegetable gardens, trees, etc. They may use them to fill holes or ditches or even to share with friends and neighbors.

Methods of Tree Removal

There are primarily three methods of tree removal. Felling is one method. This is where the tree is cut down directly from the trunk and the tree falls. This method is done with trees that have a safe place to land and are leaning the right way.
Another method is to use a bucket or lift. In this method, one person will ride in the bucket and remove portions of the tree that are too dangerous to drop but not safe to climb. The limbs cut will be tied off with a rope and lowered safely to the ground if they are in a place where they can not be safely dropped. The buckets we use can reach a height of up to 50 feet.
The final method is climbing. In this method, the climber uses ropes and safety harnesses to climb the tree and access the portions of the tree that need to be manually removed and lowered. If limbs are not in a safe place to drop, they are then tied off with another rope and lowered to the crew on the ground.8

Safety Procedures

Our crew uses all applicable safety procedures necessary to protect customers and employees, such as personal protective equipment (boots, harnesses, proper ropes, etc).

Insurance

We are fully insured with general liability insurance as well as workers compensation insurance.

Cost

The cost of the tree removal will vary widely based on several factors:

  • the size of the tree
  • the stability of the tree. For example does the tree have cracks or rot or excessive vines or erosion
the obstacles and danger around the tree. For example, is it over fences, permanently placed furniture, houses, utilities, pools, etc.
  • The accessibility of the tree. For example, the width of the gates, stairs, steep grades, trip hazards, excessive underbrush, etc
  • All of these factors will affect the time it takes to remove the tree as well as the safety associated with the removal in regards to employee safety and the safety of your home and surrounding structures.
  • We always offer free estimates! We can come to the location to evaluate your specific needs before settling on a price that you are comfortable with. With the lowest minimum price of any company in the area and a clean and professional crew, you are sure to not be disappointed.

Replacement

We do not typically recommend replacing the tree in the exact same location, unless it is a smaller tree and the root ball has been removed. The location of the new tree will depend on the size of the previous tree and its root system. Our crew leader is happy to discuss options with you and offer recommendations for the future success of your tree.

What if my tree is over my house or power lines?

When a tree is hanging over potentially dangerous obstacles, our crew uses the utmost safety procedures to protect the structures from damage. This may involve using a bucket to get to hard to reach places, climbing the tree, and using ropes to tie off branches so they do not fall and can be manipulated and lowered to specific locations.
